Felony Cases

Felonies are typically the most serious crimes in any system of criminal law. A standard definition of a felony is any crime punishable by more than one year in prison or by death. Common types of felonies include robbery, grand theft, drug possession and/or sales, sexual assault, and some domestic violence.

f you have been charged with a felony crime in California, you cannot afford to represent yourself. Felonies are the most serious crimes, and representation by an experienced Orange County felony defense attorney is essential to protect your interests. Avoiding a felony conviction is especially important in California, where having a felony conviction on your record means you're at risk for a "three-strikes" conviction that could put you in prison for life.

In the state of California, a person who has been convicted of a felony and serves a prison term may have restricted rights in many areas. For example, a person does not have the right to vote while incarcerated or on parole, although they may vote while on probation.
